Australian Business Lawyers has been ranked in the top 10 labour law practices nationally in one of the world's leading legal ranking publications, the Asia Pacific Legal 500.
The firm, in its first participation in the survey, has been ranked in the third tier in the 'Labour Law' section, with firms such as Baker & McKenzie, Deacons and Harmers Workplace Lawyers. AB Lawyers ranked higher than firms in the fourth tier, including Phillips Fox, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Gadens Lawyers and Abbott Tout.
The Asia Pacific Legal 500 is one of the world's leading legal ranking publications, published out of UK/Europe. It is the ranking that many Australian national firms value most highly, given the focus on national coverage, servicing of multinational corporates and major matters.
AB Lawyers have just opened their Melbourne office, while other firms in their ranking tier are either national full-service law firms, or in the case of Harmers Workplace Lawyers, have had interstate law offices for some time.
The following is the excerpt that appears in relation to AB Lawyers:
"The firms in our third tier are all highly focused in this field. In particular, Australian Business Lawyers is a recently established labour law boutique linked to Australian Business Ltd, a 14,000-member business support network. Founding Sydney partners Tim Capelin, Jane Seymour and Andrew Seaton, all ex-national firm, have already grown the partnership to seven, opened in Melbourne, and attracted the likes of GlaxoSmithKline, Hays Personnel and Pilkington (Australia) as clients."
