Workplace Mediation Services

Unfortunately, conflict in the workplace has become a common issue in Australian workplaces.

Australian Business Lawyers provides specialist Workplace Mediation Services to assist parties resolve all forms of workplace conflict, including:

Australian Business Lawyers has a team of accredited mediators who are experienced in conducting a range of alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) processes, such as:

What is mediation?

Workplace mediation is a structured process which assists parties who are in dispute to discuss their differences and reach a mutually agreed resolution.

The mediator is a neutral facilitator who helps each party to understand the other’s point of view. The focus is then on identifying outcomes both parties can live with, rather than who is right or wrong.

Benefits of mediation

Mediation can be a fast and cost effective way of resolving workplace conflict. It has particular benefits in a workplace context, helping to restore effective work relationships and minimise the negative impact of conflict on the workplace as a whole.

Our mediators

Our mediators are accredited and registered with the Australian Commercial Disputes Centre.

We have worked with clients for many years, helping to resolve even the most sensitive workplace issues.

We are also experienced, practising workplace lawyers. This enables us to effectively identify the areas of dispute. We also assist the parties to understand the impacts of potential litigation if they cannot agree their own strategy to resolve the conflict through mediation.

Mediation under WorkChoices

The new workplace relations laws (“WorkChoices”) place an even greater focus on resolution of disputes at the workplace level.

The Government has launched the Alternative Dispute Resolution Assistance Scheme (ADRAS). Parties to eligible disputes are able to receive up to $1,500 (GST inclusive) of Government assistance towards the cost of private ADR services.
