Hayden is a respected disputes practitioner with almost 20 years’ experience representing business, government and property owners in litigation and resolving disputes.

He has advised on disputes arising in a wide variety of commercial activities and varied legal issues. These include contracts, debts, joint ventures, real property, construction, intellectual property, information technology and communications, finance, agriculture, directors’ obligations and shareholders’ entitlements, insolvency, partnerships and fraud.

Hayden has managed litigation in many Courts and Tribunals, from the High Court of Australia to NCAT. He frequently appears in commercial cases in the Supreme Court and Federal Court. Hayden assists parties, whenever possible, to resolve disputes early through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes.

He seeks to give early strategic advice which recognises the commercial interests behind the legal issues to ensure that disputes are managed cost effectively and in line with clients’ business priorities. Hayden is noted for listening to and understanding clients’ interests before framing advice.
