Kate is a corporate and commercial lawyer with experience in private M&As, joint ventures, restructurings, commercial contracts, IT and intellectual property matters. Kate advises on establishing business entities, share and asset purchase agreements, due diligence, shareholder agreements and corporate structuring. She specialises in advising on technology and communications law, privacy and data protection law matters as well as IT licensing agreements, IP assignments, confidentiality agreements and supply and distribution agreements.
Her experience extends to advising on transactional matters involving domestic and international corporations across a variety of industries including automobile manufacturing, steel, plastics manufacturing, digital communications and shipping solutions, distribution and e-commerce providers, advertising technology, business management consulting and pharmaceutical industries.
She places great importance on providing practical solutions for her clients. Her clients appreciate her experience of having worked in multiple jurisdictions (Australia, New Zealand and Japan) and her attention to detail as well as the bigger picture. Kate draws on her previous experience as a corporate lawyer in an international law firm in Tokyo as well as pre-admission experience as a legal editor in a top tier Japanese IP law firm to provide her clients with concise, precise, commercially focussed legal advice.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts and Postgraduate Certificate in Law from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington. She is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the Women Lawyers Association of New South Wales.
