Louise is a senior lawyer and a member of our Corporate and Commercial team. She specialises in intellectual property (IP).
Louise enjoys an excellent rapport with clients and has a practical, can-do, discreet approach to achieving her clients’ commercial outcomes. She has a keen focus on cost effective, successful results.
She provides clients with advice which maximises and protects their intellectual property, both in Australia and internationally. She is well regarded for her skills in trade mark prosecution, devising strategies and formulating approaches that achieve successful brand protection. Louise regularly works with her clients in relation to issues of branding infringement, in particular assisting clients with identifying and securing protection of their intellectual property rights for both registered and unregistered IP.
She has an excellent reputation in relation to defence and opposition matters. In particular, she is highly skilled in the preparation of declarations providing evidence in support and submissions constructing legal argument supporting the acceptance of trade marks.
Louise has a pragmatic and innovative approach to commercial aspects of intellectual property. She supports her clients in matters of appropriate licensing, IP due diligence reporting, trade mark clearance searches and brand selection, as well as ongoing trade mark portfolio management.
Louise also acts for clients in a broad spectrum of associated specialities including, copyright issues, Australian Consumer Law matters, passing off issues plus corporate and commercial matters where IP is a relevant consideration.
Among many others, she is a trusted advisor to information technology businesses in addition to clients in the biotechnology and life sciences industries in Australia and overseas.
