Deepti is a senior corporate and commercial lawyer with diverse expertise in public and private M&A (including private equity deals), general corporate + commercial advisory and equity capital markets (IPOs and capital raisings). She brings with her years of experience at Australian leading law firms and has acted for a number of Australian and international corporations on a wide variety of transactions.
In her practice she is commercially focused – she simplifies the law in a way that makes commercial sense and is practical and realistic with her recommendations. She focuses on the big picture but does not overlook the finer details. Clients enjoy working with Deepti as she is approachable, proactive and efficient. Deepti’s approach to practicing law means that she is able to draft, negotiate and finalise often complex contracts with expediency while always protecting her client’s best interests.
She has a keen interest and wide-ranging experience assisting clients in the retail + consumer industry, which frequently requires her to advise on areas of competition and consumer law, intellectual property and company/business acquisitions. Deepti also has secondment experience working in-house with a global technology corporation.
Deepti holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance, and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney. She also has experience working on pro bono matters with both the Homeless Persons Legal Service and the Redfern Legal Centre and is a published author in The International Lawyer (a publication of the American Bar Association of the International Law Journal).
