EXPERIENCE

Abigail joined Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors in April 2017. Prior to this, she worked as an advisor in a boutique HR consulting firm providing tailored workplace advice to members of various employer associations primarily in the health sector. She now provides workplace advice to employers operating across all industries and sectors.

She has extensive experience in guiding employers (small to large) in managing diverse workplace issues including:
  • performance management and terminations,
  • misconduct and investigations,
  • bullying, discrimination and harassment issues,
  • redundancies and restructures,
  • abandonment of employment,
  • managing ill and injured workers, and
  • NES entitlements.
Abigail provides practical advice to employers on how to balance meeting their statutory obligations, follow best practice, and work towards best possible outcomes unique to their business circumstances when it comes to workplace matters.

Her ability to do so lies within her skill in tenaciously interpreting various industrial instruments including the Fair Work Act 2009, modern awards and enterprise agreements. Abigail regularly assists in writing updates on Fair Work Commission decisions relating to modern awards that impact employee entitlements and employer obligations at the workplace level.

Abigail holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resources and Marketing and is currently completing a Juris Doctor in Law to work towards practicing as a workplace lawyer.
